Narratives
The Local
- Gets to work with ease in little time
- No accounting for late public transport
The only impact of this narrative on the design for the lightrail would be opening up the layout as much as possible so that people can pass through the area without causing or getting disrupted by the architecture or the dwellers.
The Worker
- The worker gets up early to start his trip to the focus area
- Traffic, and other transport issues may cause unpredictable events during this trip, affecting the arrival time.
- Large crowds of people during peek hour is always a hassle for the worker
- After long hours of travel the worker is often tired and happy to finally get home
The effect on my design for the worker would be to ensure the efficiency and effectivness of how the architecture manages large crowds. During peek hour the desgin should naturally flow with the temporary dwellers determining lines and waiting areas that don't cause an congestion and runs smoothly.
The Resident

- The resident is somewhat similar to the worker, with an opposite destination during the focus area
- This person also has to deal with any unpredictable interruptions that may occur during the trip
- The resident might travel far before returning, and a smooth, quick trip is required
The Tourist
- The tourist is unfamiliar with the area, and may require some help by officials or information points
- They often spend time in restaurants and public spaces
This will mean that my design needs plenty of easy to understand information stands and help with timetables and journeys to certain destinations, including surrounding key icons. It will also require signage that can be understood on a global level.
